Each person has a lash growth cycle that is unique to that individual person. Our natural lashes have a 3 phase growth cycle: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen.
In the Anagen phase the baby lashes are present. These are lashes that have shed and are newly growing back. These lashes are so tiny and a lash extension should never be placed on an anagen lash. Anagen phase lasts 30-45 days.
In the Catagen phase lashes are strong and long, but also transitioning to die and fall out. During this phase the lash will eventually detach from the follicle and no longer grow. Catagen phase lasts 14-21 days.
In the Telogen phase the lashes actually fall out. During the telogen phase the lash will detach from the follicle but will remain stagnant until ready to fall out. A new lash will begin to grow. Telogen phase lasts 90-120 days.
Within 2 weeks natural lashes and the attached extension will have grown out further and will need to be removed by your lash artist. A new extension will be reapplied to the natural lash. -Not all grown out natural lashes are ready to shed and fall out.
Keeping a grown out extension on the natural lash for more than 2-3 weeks can be damaging to the natural lash due to the unbalanced weight of the grown out extension.
At Sleeping Buddha, we pride ourselves in educating our clients to inform that it is not healthy for the natural lashes to have an extension still applied 4 weeks later. Excessive retention goals are unhealthy!
We are here for our clients and keep everything transparent!
